Project Work - Editorial Illustration (Introduction post)

Hey everyone. Firstly, sorry for the inactivity recently, been pretty drained since turning in the projects that were due a week ago. Good news, will be receiving feedback tomorrow at 2PM UK time, very stoked (and scared) for it all. I will get on here to talk about the feedback I will receive and just make a quick personal statement in which I will go over the expected results vs the results received. It will most likely be a semi-long post that will mainly consist of rambling and such but I will highlight the score to save everyone interested time. If I remember, that is. As for this post, this is just something that is way overdue. We have started a new brief module on the 18th of November (exactly the next day after the deadline of the last 2, thank goodness it is only 1 project this time, haha) and it is called - Professional Practice and Work Experience in Illustration. Quite a mouthful, but from what I have seen the module is a lot less intimidating than I had anticipated on da

Statement for PoV project (+Proposal)

The first module of the illustration course has come to a close and I have taken so much away from it. By far, the most satisfying and beneficial learning process I have experienced - everything was incredibly thorough, informative and clear - it almost felt as though we were watching the tutors do an autopsy on illustration. There is really so much more to it than I had anticipated or thought there to be - different approaches, different mediums, different dimensions of working. Before the course started, I thought of illustration as an almost exclusively 2D type of art, but at this moment in time I stand corrected. One of the best parts of the course for me personally was being able to adapt our newly acquired knowledge to our art during semi-weekly workshops. One of the most useful narratives for me was the “Roughing the Narrative” workshop – I have discovered that there is a part of me that simply adores roughing out storylines I want to go with for projects that require that.

A4A Reflective Piece Final (+Presentation)

Good morning all. Feels so weird making a post at 5AM but what would you not do out of sheer stress. Spent the entire night just working on my projects and alas I have finished them fully! I have already talked about the PoV project in a previous post , this post will be orientated towards the Artist For Artist project which just so happens to fall under the same deadline as the PoV one. It was quite the challenge juggling between them and I honestly barely made it. But hey, we made it nonetheless, which is what matters. Before I get onto the work that I have produced, if you have not watched the video presentation I have made on the artist, I would recommend viewing it for the purpose of familiarizing yourself with the artist and having an idea on what to expect. Click here  to go to a post that was fully dedicated to this presentation. In the video I gave a very abstract outline of what I wanted to do for my reflective piece, in the post I uploaded some sketches and progress photos (

Points of View Project Final Piece(s), Research And Sketches

Image
Good day all. I have just finished creating the final piece(s) for my Points of View project. Trying to figure what needs to be done to get it to look like it does now was rather challenging - there is still so much I do not know about software.. Spent the last couple of hours just rampaging throughout the world wide web searching for answers to questions that I never even thought would come up. But alas, all is finished and I am able to present my final piece for the project - a flipbook that tackles the topic of death. For reference, here is a screencap of a proposal/plan for the project: The proposal merely outlines my ideas but does not really touch upon all the in-depth part of it which is why I am typing up this post right now. My topic is Death and the three points I chose to explore are: • Death is a product of time; • Death is a leap of faith; • Death is a realm of mystery.  I had quite a bit of trouble trying to figure out what I wanted to do for the project, would even say t
